A Complete Review of Odyssey (artifact)

297. Catalyst Stone 2 Artifact (R)
Flashback costs you pay cost up to 2 less. Flashback costs your opponents pay cost 2 more.

==> FUN: 4
That should come in handy. It's nice that they've put the flashback hoser and the flashback enhancer in the same card. That makes it a hoser I don't mind getting as a rare, because it can be used to make some of those insane flashback costs more manageable.

298. Charmed Pendant 4 Artifact (R)
Tap, Put the top card of your library into your graveyard: For each colored mana symbol in that card's mana cost, add one mana of that color to your mana pool. Play this ability only any time you could play an instant. (For example, if the card's mana cost is 3UUB, you add UUB to your mana pool.)

==> FUN: 3
An interesting mana artifact. A bit risky, but there's potential for a lot of mana if you get something like an Atogatog or Flame Wave. Obviously, it works best if you know what's coming and can influence it, like with Soothsaying. I can't think of any cards that directly allow you to use the mana you got to cast the card you just milled, though. Yawgmoth's Agenda removes it from the game. The closest one I can think of is Holistic Wisdom.

299. Darkwater Egg 1 Artifact (U)
2, Tap, Sacrifice Darkwater Egg: Add UB to your mana pool. Draw a card.

==> FUN: 3
Could be useful to smooth out mana problems in a deck. Too bad there doesn't seem to be anything like a Replenish that works on artifacts, because with all these cantrip artifacts that could make a nice little drawing engine. Hanna, Ship's Navigator is the closest thing I could find. Anyway, I'm not crazy about five card slots of the set being taken up by these eggs, but I'm sure they can be suitably abused in the right deck. Playing twenty of them in a deck effectively brings the total number of cards you're playing down to 40. Not to mention that they make good food for (the original) Atog and they help cast Atogatog. And they help you reach threshold. Just for the deck thinning it might be worth playing it if the environment is slow enough. How about a deck like this: 20x eggs, 5x dragon legends, 1x cromat, 1x atogatog, 1x sliver queen, 4x duress, 4x abeyance, 24x land. The word silly just doesn't quite cover it, but it looks like fun. Maybe a few threshold cards instead of the duress or abeyance.

300. Junk Golem 4 Artifact Creature - Golem 0/0 (R)
Junk Golem comes into play with three +1/+1 counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, sacrifice Junk Golem unless you remove a +1/+1 counter from it. 1, Discard a card from your hand: Put a +1/+1 counter on Junk Golem.

==> FUN: 2
By the time you get a chance to attack with it, it has shrunk down to a 2/2. Even though you can pump it up with permanent counters, it costs cards to do so. I'm not sure how Humility interacts with +1/+1 counters. If you can pump Junk Golem up and then make it a 1/1 without abilities, but with plenty of +1/+1 counters on it, it might be worth it. It may also be playable with Howling Mines or Necropotence. A bit like Mindless Automaton, but not as good.

301. Limestone Golem 6 Artifact Creature - Golem 3/4 (U)
2, Sacrifice Limestone Golem: Target player draws a card.

==> FUN: 3
As hopelessly overcosted artifact creatures go, this one isn't that bad. You may even get cardadvantage out of it.

--
302. Millikin 2 Artifact Creature 0/1 (U)
Tap, Put the top card of your library into your graveyard: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool.

==> FUN: 3
Probably related to Manakin. It'll help you reach threshold as well.

--
303. Mirari 5 Legendary Artifact (R)
Whenever you play an instant or sorcery spell, you may pay 3. If you do, put a copy of that spell onto the stack. You may choose new targets for the copy.

==> FUN: 5
What's not to like about a reusable Fork? Note that you can only use it once for each spell, not as many times as you have mana for. It's especially nice with cheap cantrips.

--
304. Mossfire Egg 1 Artifact (U)
2, Tap, Sacrifice Mossfire Egg: Add RG to your mana pool. Draw a card.

==> FUN: 3

--
305. Otarian Juggernaut 4 Artifact Creature 2/3 (R)
Otarian Juggernaut can't be blocked by Walls. Threshold - Otarian Juggernaut gets +3/+0 and attacks each turn if able. (You have threshold as long as seven or more cards are in your graveyard.)

==> FUN: 2
A fixed Juggernaut. A bit too one-track-minded for my tastes. Having to wait for threshold doesn't help. Only good for people who suffer from nostalgia.

--
306. Patchwork Gnomes 3 Artifact Creature - Gnome 2/1 (U)
Discard a card from your hand: Regenerate Patchwork Gnomes.

==> FUN: 2
A bit of a bland reprint. It fits the Odyssey theme of filling your graveyard quickly, but that's about it.

--
307. Sandstone Deadfall 3 Artifact (U)
Tap, Sacrifice two lands and Sandstone Deadfall: Destroy target attacking creature.

==> FUN: 2
Not that bad, but it sure isn't card advantage.

--
308. Shadowblood Egg 1 Artifact (U)
2, Tap, Sacrifice Shadowblood Egg: Add BR to your mana pool. Draw a card.

==> FUN: 3

--
309. Skycloud Egg 1 Artifact (U)
2, Tap, Sacrifice Skycloud Egg: Add WU to your mana pool. Draw a card.

==> FUN: 3

--
310. Steamclaw 2 Artifact (U)
3, Tap: Remove target card in a graveyard from the game. 1, Sacrifice Steamclaw: Remove target card in a graveyard from the game.

==> FUN: 3
It's a bit more directly useful than Phyrexian Furnace, but also a lot more expensive. And it can't be burned for a card. Still, you don't have to start at the bottom of the graveyard like with the Furnace.

--
311. Sungrass Egg 1 Artifact (U)
2, Tap, Sacrifice Sungrass Egg: Add GW to your mana pool. Draw a card.

==> FUN: 3
