A Complete Review of Judgment (multicolor)

137. Anurid Brushhopper R, 1GW Creature - Beast 3/4
Discard two cards from your hand: Remove ~this~ from the game. Return it to play under its owner's control at end of turn.
It's so tough it frightens itself into hiding.

==> FUN: 4
A cheap 3/4 with an ability that allows Anurid Brushhopper to avoid even Wrath of God. It's not that different from Rainbow Efreet, really, except that discarding two cards is not something you'll want to do very often. Unless you have a hand full of madness and flashback cards. And even then, you'll run out of cards soon enough.

138. Hunting Grounds R, GW Enchantment
Threshold - Whenever an opponent plays a spell, you may put a creature card from your hand into play.
In the heavy hush of Krosa, drawing on mana is like ringing a dinner bell.

==> FUN: 3
A threshold effect worth waiting for. Still, by the time you have threshold, you should be able to churn out one nice creature after another. In that situation, Hunting Grounds is just an extra bit of speed that you don't really need. Hunting Grounds starts to shine when you're using huge reanimator-type creatures, like Hypnox and Verdant Force. But if your opponent thinks you're playing those kind of creatures, he'll be likely to stop casting and just try to win with his better in-play creatures if at all possible. Not that Hunting Grounds is a bad card. On the contrary, it may prove to be one of the strongest cards in Judgment. If you manage to cast it and reach threshold in a fast and painless way with Hypnox in hand, your opponent won't be able to safely cast anything anymore, including a Disenchant on your Hunting Grounds or a Morningtide to make it dormant. And if you have a Mystic Snake in hand you can even counter what's supposed to be a gamewinning Blaze for free. What I dislike about Hunting Grounds is that it's too unreliable compared to cards like Quicksilver Amulet. I don't like giving my opponent choices.

139. Mirari's Wake R, 3GW Enchantment
Creatures you control get +1/+1.
Whenever you tap a land for mana, add one mana to your mana pool of any type that land produced.
The land drank power from the Mirari as though it has thirsted for it forever.

==> FUN: 4
Mirari's Wake is a combination of Mana Flare and Glorious Anthem. Those two effects don't have much synergy together. When you get to five mana, a weenie deck is already winding down and a reset like Armageddon would be a better use of mana. A Mana Flare effect is also something you want as early as possible, because your spells will mostly be very expensive and you don't want to have to wait until you finally have the mana to cast Mirari's Wake before you start casting your big spells. That doesn't stop it from being fun, though. It should be very useful in a green/white lifegain deck, by increasing the power of your Radiant's Dragoons and Ancestor's Chosen, while also making cards like Ancestral Tribute easier to flash back.

140. Phantom Nishoba R, 5GW Creature - Beast Spirit 0/0
Trample
~this~ comes into play with seven +1/+1 counters on it.
If damage would be dealt to ~this~, prevent that damage. Remove a +1/+1 counter from ~this~.
Whenever ~this~ deals damage, you gain that much life.

==> FUN: 4
With trample and a built-in Spirit Link, Phantom Nishoba will cause a big swing in life each time it attacks. Your opponent may take as much as seven damage, while you gain seven life. As usual, the damage prevention is a mixed blessing, but it has a lesser effect on Phantom Nishoba, because of its size. On one hand, an opposing big creature won't be able to kill it (but how likely is your opponent to have a creature this size anyway?) On the other hand, chump blockers and Shocks will cost +1/+1 counters (but a 6/6 or 5/5 is still big). It's no Spiritmonger, but it's a nice creature anyway.

At the same time, he has to help his sister, Jeska, who has been transformed into Phage, a being that can kill with a mere touch. At the same time Ixidor, an illusionist with the ability to shape reality is out to kill Phage for killing his one true love. Who will find her first?
