I am a huge fan of Dean Koontz and though some of his books have fallen short of his usual greatness, Door to December is one of the best books he has written. The entire book kept me on the edge of my seat, the dialogue between the characters was well written and the plot was so out there. Sometimes I wonder where he gets these ideas.
